Loudoun HS Students Protest President’s “Foreign Terrorist” XO–They Are Entitled To Their Own Opinion But Not To A Lack Of Understanding Of Our Institutions And History
LoudounNow’s Danielle Nadler reports that last Friday “Hundreds of Loudoun Students ‘Walk Out’ in Support of Immigrants”–
“After watching the confusion and fear that followed President Donald Trump’s travel restrictions on refugees and travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries, Rida Ali felt the need to do something.
The 16-year-old Ashburn resident is a first generation American. Her mother is from Yemen and her father from Pakistan. She took to Twitter and suggested to a few of her friends that they plan a ‘walk out,’ to leave class for 10-15 minutes to make a statement about how empty the school—the nation, really—would be without immigrants or descendants of immigrants.
What she didn’t expect was that hundreds of students would join her on campuses throughout Loudoun County. ‘It spread so far,’ she said. ‘I had no idea that any other school was going to do this.’
Walk outs were reported this afternoon at least eight Loudoun County high schools. Four of the largest demonstrations took place at Briar Woods, Rock Ridge, Potomac Falls and Broad Run, where Ali is a junior. The school system reported that, in total, 619 students participated in the walk out.”
Loudoun County, Virginia may have the best high-school civics and US history classes available, and may indeed require every student to take them. But for the sake of our discussion, let’s stipulate that their high-school civics and US history are top of the line.
Loudoun County, after all, “has been ranked first in the United States in median household income among jurisdictions with a population of 65,000 or more.”
Weighing The Merits Of An Issue Versus “Virtue Signaling”
The demonstrating students, however, seem to base their objections to the president’s Executive Order on vacuities–
“a statement about how empty the school—the nation, really—would be without immigrants or descendants of immigrants” or “America is more than ‘just white'”
But simply expressing solidarity with classmates through “virtue signaling” doesn’t make a case.
First, of course, one should read the full text of the Executive Order, including its fact-gathering provisions. As we pointed out in an earlier story, Reports Required in Trump’s Refugee Executive Order Can Tell Americans “What’s Going On” With Our Immigrants & Visitors!
Here are six such expert voices —
- Constitutional scholar and former Federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy in American Security and Islamic Reform (National Review) declares —
“We need to move beyond the ‘are we targeting Muslims’ nonsense and get to the critical question: How do we embrace our Islamic friends while excluding our sharia-supremacist enemies?”
As McCarthy explained in an earlier story, “Of Course There Should be an Ideological Test in Immigration”–
“You are not supposed to realize that aliens are expected to exhibit fidelity to this constitutional framework as a precondition to joining our society. You are not supposed to know that there is an Islamic law, sharia, that has far more to do with governance, economics, warfare, civil rights, domestic relations, criminal prosecution, and fashion than it does with spiritual life. And you are absolutely not supposed to grasp that sharia is antithetical to the Constitution, to the very foundational American principle that the people may make law for themselves, live as they see fit, and chart their own destiny. You are not supposed to connect the dots and ask, ‘Well, how is it conceivable that any sharia-adherent alien could faithfully pledge allegiance to our Constitution?’”
- The Hudson Institute’s John Fonte and Althea Nagai back in 2015 warned that America’s Patriotic Assimilation System Is Broken—
“Patriotic integration versus multicuturalism is a moral issue. America’s decision on how to integrate newcomers—through patriotic assimilation (traditional Americanization) or the contemporary approach of multiculturalism-group consciousness—is a moral issue that will define the character of our citizenship and our constitutional democracy.”
- The Center for Immigration Studies’ Jessica Vaughan “Study Reveals 72 Terrorists Came From Countries Covered by Trump Vetting Order”—
“A review of information compiled by a Senate committee in 2016 reveals that 72 individuals from the seven countries covered in President Trump’s vetting executive order have been convicted in terror cases since the 9/11 attacks.”
- Then-senator, now Attorney General, Jeff Sessions told us in 2015 of the extent of immigration to the US–
“Immigration Adds 1 New Los Angeles Every 3 Years”
- And finally scholar Stella Morabito warns parents and students Today’s Riot-Prone Mobs Are A Product Of America’s Cult-Like Education System !
“By high school too many are become dependent upon their overlords in the education establishment telling them what to say, what to believe, what to do: Go into the streets to protest Trump’s inauguration! . . . Get a degree in pseudo-studies. Don’t read classics (Eeewwww, dead white guys.)”
Free men and women, in our view, welcome robust debate among those with various perspectives.
Patriots should disdain servile “safe spaces.”
The sources we suggest may or may not change the demonstrators’ minds, but grappling with this material will enable them to frame their views as serious young citizens.

UPDATE FEBRUARY 9! The Spirit of America: Conservative Grassroots Leaders Plan Massive Pro-Trump Demonstrations Nationwide
Breitbart’s Matthew Boyle reveals “Conservative grassroots leaders are planning a series of massive pro-President Donald Trump rallies nationwide, Breitbart News has learned exclusively. On Feb. 27 and March 4, the rallies—dubbed the Spirit of America Rallies—will spring up nationwide in cities and towns across America.”

Nearly a month ago we declared—
The extent and intensity of the pushback against president-elect Donald Trump — even before he takes office on Friday, January 20 — tells patriots what America barely escaped from a Hillary Clinton victory: completion of the Obama transformation of America!
And not just more open borders and more job-killing trade deals and the acceleration of Muslim refugee importation.
But a Clinton Administration intent on using Federal power to impose even more Cultural Marxism on our state and local governments!
Now, post swearing in, the Organized Left is striking back — from inaugural demonstrations in Washington, D. C. to physical attacks on conservative speakers in Berkeley, California and New York City to previously unthinkable manipulations of our Federal courts.
All of this pushback has dominated the news cycles over the last two weeks.
Your GOP members of the Congress (House and Senate) and your GOP state leaders should now be continually and visibly speaking out for the president as Mr. Trump takes on the Washington Establishment to “drain the swamp” for all Americans.
In two states next to the national capital, 248,343 voters supported then-candidate Trump in the Maryland presidential primary and 356,840 voters supported then-candidate Trump in the Virginia presidential primary.
Surely these Trump Core voters can now organize to push their own state’s GOP to get behind the president’s program energetically.
The November 8, 2016 Trump victory has given Americans a last reprieve.
If we don’t take advantage of the time Donald Trump bought us, our country will continue to be “transformed” inexorably by the Obama-Clinton legacy.
Remember November 8 was just the beginning.
As Rush explained last Friday–
“It’s designed to dispirit you. It’s designed to depress you. It’s designed to make you think you’re never gonna really succeed at this. It’s designed to make you think that they’re gonna be able to get rid of Trump next week, next month. It’s designed to make you think they’re gonna make Trump cave. It’s designed to make you think they’re gonna tick Trump off so much, they’re gonna make even Trump think it can’t be done, he’s gonna throw up his hands and say, ‘You know what Pence, you can have it, I’m leaving.’
“Whatever they have to do to make you think this is a lost cause, they will do and they are doing. And it’s going to continue. And Trump is not going to slow down, and he’s not going to pull back. He’s going to continue. He’s got people around him who are not gonna slow down and who are not gonna pull back. And he the people he has around him are hell-bent on defeating these people and getting them out of the way.
. . . . . . . . . .
They still haven’t realized what’s hit them, I don’t think. They’re gonna make up polls, approval polls. They’re gonna try to tell you Trump’s the most unpopular president after three weeks that we’ve ever had in America. They’re gonna make you think that everybody that voted for Trump is abandoning him, except you. They want you to think you’re alone. They want you to think that your associates and like-minded voters have all abandoned you and you’re the only guy still pulling for Trump. You’re the only person out there still hoping and praying this all happens. They want to bust up the coalition. It is vicious. This is exactly what it has always been going to look like.”
If our president is to succeed, his supporters must come together and stay together to ensure that GOP leaders —from the Congress to state capitals — come out of the shadows and speak loudly for his program!

Reports Required in Trump’s Refugee Executive Order Can Tell Americans “What’s Going On” With Our Immigrants & Visitors!
Breitbart’s Michael Patrick Leahy reported yesterday–
“President Trump signed an executive order late Friday which temporarily bars refugees from entering the United States.
Trump signed the order on refugees while at the Pentagon, minutes after General James Mattis was sworn in as Secretary of Defense by Vice President Mike Pence at a brief ceremony which the president attended.
The executive order, “Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry Into The United States,” contained these key elements:
- Suspended the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program for 120 days, prohibiting the arrival of refugees into the United States from any country during that period
- Ordered the Secretaries of State and Homeland Security to undertake a complete review of the refugee vetting process
- Permanently banned Syrian refugees until President Trump determined otherwise, and
- Lowered the ceiling of refugees allowed to enter the United States during FY 2017 to 50,000.”
But we should also celebrate these extraordinary transparency and reporting requirements in the Executive Order! (Highlighting added.)
“Sec. 10. Transparency and Data Collection. (a) To be more transparent with the American people, and to more effectively implement policies and practices that serve the national interest, the Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Attorney General, shall, consistent with applicable law and national security, collect and make publicly available within 180 days, and every 180 days thereafter:
(i) information regarding the number of foreign nationals in the United States who have been charged with terrorism-related offenses while in the United States; convicted of terrorism-related offenses while in the United States; or removed from the United States based on terrorism-related activity, affiliation, or material support to a terrorism-related organization, or any other national security reasons since the date of this order or the last reporting period, whichever is later;
(ii) information regarding the number of foreign nationals in the United States who have been radicalized after entry into the United States and engaged in terrorism-related acts, or who have provided material support to terrorism-related organizations in countries that pose a threat to the United States, since the date of this order or the last reporting period, whichever is later; and
(iii) information regarding the number and types of acts of gender-based violence against women, including honor killings, in the United States by foreign nationals, since the date of this order or the last reporting period, whichever is later; and
(iv) any other information relevant to public safety and security as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security and the Attorney General, including information on the immigration status of foreign nationals charged with major offenses.
(b) The Secretary of State shall, within one year of the date of this order, provide a report on the estimated long-term costs of the USRAP at the Federal, State, and local levels.”
These reports can build a wide base of public understanding and thus support for this major Trump initiative.
Trump Presidency Richard Falknor on 20 Dec 2016
“There’s a famous story about President Franklin D. Roosevelt meeting with a group of progressive activists. They told him to pursue a certain political program. After the meeting, FDR supposedly said: ‘All right, you’ve convinced me. Now go out there and put pressure on me!’ I was reminded of this story when President-Elect Trump recently spoke in Ohio. He urged activists to fight just as hard for his policies as they did to put him in office. After all, what soon to be President Trump believes or doesn’t believe is less important than whether there is sufficient political pressure behind his agenda.” — James Kirkpatrick
As Donald Trump takes office, he needs his base pushing hard behind him to achieve his crucial campaign priorities.
Ann Coulter today tweeted the background bluntly –“Only 1 presidential candidate called for a wall. A Muslim ban. Deportation of illegals. His own party denounced him. He won in a landslide.”
Coulter pointed to “The Preibus-Trump power struggle.”
Conservative Review’s (CR) Daniel Horowitz suggested in a podcast that the Trump Transition was “making the Establishment great again”–
“Yet, somehow we take it as a given that in a Republican administration the most powerful cabinet pick — secretary of State — could be given to someone who is pro-Common Core, anti-sanctions, pro-carbon tax, anti-energy independence, and a leader in the homosexual agenda.
Now we hear that John Bolton might not be picked for deputy secretary of State, while liberals such as Elliot Abrams and Richard Haass are being considered instead.
This is part of a pattern of choosing the path to least resistance. Kris Kobach was passed over as DHS secretary and likely as deputy as well for the same reason.
Finally, we show how Democrats never surrender their principles even when they lose power. Why do we surrender ours when we win?
John Kasich won’t even fight for a pro-life bill because he refuses to stand up to the legal profession, yet liberals have no problem thwarting federal immigration law.” (Highlighting Forum’s throughout.)
(Senior Editor Horowitz also refers to Alex Isenstadt‘s & Kenneth P. Vogel’s Politico post, Divisions deepen inside Trump Tower.)
CR’s Jordan Schachtel reveals about the Secretary of State-designate that “America-last Rex Tillerson has quite a cozy relationship with the Islamic supremacist nation of Qatar”!
“Rex Tillerson’s Qatar is not the real Qatar. One is left to speculate: How many other dictatorial countries has he provided cover for in order to curry favor with their leaders?”
Last February Breitbart’s Julia Hahn exposed OMB chief-designate Mick Mulvaney as “Pro-Amnesty Mick Mulvaney: Immigration Most Important Issue To South Carolina Voters”–
“Moreover, video footage, captured during the height of the Gang of Eight amnesty push, reveals Mulvaney publicly demeaning his conservative constituents and colleagues, such as influential Iowa Congressman Rep. Steve King for opposing Rep. Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio’s agenda of mass amnesty—suggesting that such views are ‘absurd’ and ‘stupid.'”
. . . . . . . . . .
“Similarly, in a congressional hearing last year, Mulvaney criticized Heritage scholar Robert Rector, who is considered to be “the father of the 1996 welfare-reform law,” for providing U.S. lawmakers with factual evidence that granting amnesty to poor migrants would strain the nation’s federal welfare programs at the expense of Mulvaney’s own taxpaying constituents. Mulvaney vehemently objected to Rector’s analysis and suggested that admitting poor and uneducated migrants who are ‘literally starving to death’ in foreign countries would be a boon to America.”
To pick two (one Blue, one Purple) states with which we have some familiarity, Maryland had 248,343 Trump primary supporters and Virginia had 356,840 Trump primary supporters. The GOP primary vote likely reflects the core Trump supporters in these two states. Yet, in both states, the GOP Establishment disdained and was hostile to Trump although he won the Maryland primary and had a plurality in the Virginia primary.
ADD-ON December 21: West Virginia — right next to Maryland and Virginia — had 157,238 Trump primary supporters or 77% of the GOP primary. Donald Trump carried West Virginia by 68.7 % in the general election winning every county.
Trump Patriots acting through their own well-organized statewide organizations can have a strong voice for the new president’s campaign priorities that will be heard by their Congressional delegations.
VDARE’s James Kirkpatrick elaborates—
“Similarly, within the GOP, the critical need is to develop a crop of ‘Donald Trump Republicans’ at the local and state levels, running in his name and on the populist platform he campaigned for. Even if Trump himself does not explicitly endorse insurgent candidates, this can be explained away as simply something he has to do because of his position as head of the GOP. The debate should always be framed as though Trump wants populists to take over the GOP—even if he says nothing of the kind. This is a Narrative the Main Stream Media will be eager to believe and to magnify.”
One more Kirkpatrick insight – –
“Thus, the most effective way to rise against Trump, if it becomes necessary is to claim it is being done in his own name. In Imperial Russia, currently perhaps the most hated society among American intellectuals and journalists, there was supposedly the saying, ‘If only the Tsar knew!’ The presumption was if only the leader knew the extent of the problems that were being concealed from him by his wicked advisors, the people would be saved.”
Stay tuned as we track Trump Deplorables organizing!
Trump Presidency Susan Freis Falknor on 15 Nov 2016
Back in the Vietnam War era, many idealistic friends were touched by an anti-war poster–a sunflower emblem that framed what became, for a time, a well-known “peace movement” slogan:
“War is not healthy for children and other living things.”
Now, with the many anti-Trump demonstrations morphing into riots in our cities —with arson, property damage and looting in places like Portland OR, Oakland CA, and Indianapolis—I think we should update that slogan:
“Riots are not healthy for children and other living things.”
What’s A Riot To Do With?
To people of common sense, a political demonstration might make all the sense in the world.
It is a time-honored way to oppose wrong policies and to produce a flesh-and-blood show of the strength of support for what you believe.
But people of common sense see riots as just plain “senseless.”
Opening up a store windows with bricks and looting?
Setting dumpsters on fire?
Beating people up?
Yelling “Kill the Cops?”
Menacing residential streets with loaded guns?
Luring out a host of misguided students to use as riot fodder?
Risking setting fire to entire neighborhoods?
You’ve got to admit — rioting is risky for “children and other living things” in those cities.
There is a discerning fellow who for years has been writing under the name of “Sundance” in an online blog called The Conservative Treehouse.
Over time, I have come to consider his “take” on unfolding events very seriously.
Two days after the Tuesday election, on Thursday, November 10, Sundance wrote about the Trump-Obama White House meeting that day.
He looked past the famous handshake and zeroed in on the big-city demonstrations and riots which had begun on the previous Wednesday and have continued since.
“That raises the question ‘why organize the protests’? The answer therein outlines how severely the Obama and Clinton groups estimate the risk. They are trying to save themselves through a process of applying leverage against the risk that Donald Trump represents.
In essence Obama/Clinton agents are undermining Trump’s possible action against them by creating a narrative where the best play for President Trump is to allow the usurping agents to creep away, albeit with suitcases of cash, quietly into the night; and avoid sunlight upon their prior unlawful activity.
The meeting today between the victor Donald Trump and the defeated Barack Obama is essentially a meeting to discuss the terms of surrender. President Obama is seeking safe passage and amnesty for prior usurpation.
In the meeting today President Obama, and by extension Hillary Clinton, are requesting safe passage using the leverage of they’ll burn down the nation if not provided – hence the protests needed last night.” (Highlighting Forum’s throughout.)
Sundance anticipated last Thursday that we would see one of two paths coming out of the Obama Administration’s brinkmanship:
- “If the ridiculous election protests continue again tonight, then President Obama has not called them off. That means he and Clinton received no substantive assurances, and are worried about being held to account – prosecuted and investigated.
- If the ridiculous election protest do not happen again tonight, then President Obama has called them off. That means he and Clinton feel more comfortable they will not be held to account – prosecuted and investigated.”
The demonstrations and riots, of course, have continued.
“From reading the various mainstream media accounts of these events, one comes away with the distinct impression that they are grassroots actions that began organically among ordinary, concerned, well-meaning citizens.
But alas, if one were to think that, one would be wrong.”
Front Page Magazine, founded by the venerable leftist-turned-conservative David Horowitz, includes a vast accumulation of research on how the Political Left (both individuals and organizations) have operated over by now several generations.
Horowitz calls this invaluable resource “Discover the Networks (DTN)”
Perazzo draws on DTN to sketch a kind of wiring diagram of the organizational spark plugs that “orchestrated” today’s anti-Trump riots—
“Contrary to media misrepresentations, many of the supposedly spontaneous, organic, anti-Trump protests we have witnessed in cities from coast to coast were in fact carefully planned and orchestrated, in advance, by a pro-Communist organization called the ANSWER Coalition, which draws its name from the acronym for ‘Act Now to Stop War and End Racism.’
ANSWER was established in 2001 by Ramsey Clark’s International Action Center, a group staffed in large part by members of the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party. In 2002, the libertarian author Stephen Suleyman Schwartz described ANSWER as an “ultra-Stalinist network” whose members served as ‘active propaganda agents for Serbia, Iraq, and North Korea, as well as Cuba, countries they repeatedly visit and acclaim.’
Since its inception, ANSWER has consistently depicted the United States as a racist, sexist, imperialistic, militaristic nation guilty of unspeakable crimes against humanity—in other words, a wellspring of pure evil.
When ANSWER became a leading organizer of the massive post-9/11 demonstrations against the Patriot Act and the U.S. invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, it formed alliances with other likeminded entities such as Not In Our Name (a project of the Revolutionary Communist Party) and United For Peace and Justice (a pro-Castro group devoted to smearing America as a cesspool of bigotry and oppression).”
Perazzo sums up–
“In short, the anti-Trump protests that are currently making headlines are 100% contrived, fake, phony exhibitions of street theater, orchestrated entirely by radicals and revolutionaries whose chief objective is to push America ever farther to the political left. Moreover, they seek to utterly demoralize conservatives into believing that public opposition to their own (conservative) political and social values is growing more powerful, more passionate, and more widespread with each passing day.”
So there you have it on riots as continuing and dangerous gaslighting* theater of our politics today.
We will see how the demonstrations and riots** play out at the Inauguration… and then throughout the Trump Administration.
It’s going to be a very long war to restore our Republic.

** Breitbart’s Lana Shadwick writes Report: Majority Arrested in Portland Anti-Trump Protests Didn’t Vote
Trump Presidency Richard Falknor on 15 Nov 2016
“Why the rush? Let’s slow down, think and properly plan this so we get it right. Look at what happened in the last two years when we didn’t make our agenda absolutely clear to the American people. If we rush this Speaker election, the American people will feel manipulated once again. This is no time to undermine morale and do an end-run around them.”
Breitbart’s Julia Hahn in her “Dave Brat Urges Delay on Speaker Vote; A ‘Better Way’ Did Not Animate This Historic Election” summarized yesterday the Virginia conservative’s plea–
“Brat explained that while Congress has fought for donor class priorities like fast tracking the Trans Pacific Partnership and ‘taking up deals on behalf of big business, Congress didn’t bother with the issues that matter to struggling Americans back home.’
‘That’s what this election was about,’ Brat writes.
‘Speaker Ryan promised last year that if elected, he would adhere to regular order. It didn’t happen,’ Brat added. ‘This year, the House didn’t even vote on a budget.’
‘Is this what the American people want?’ Brat asked.
In the piece, Brat outlined what he viewed as the mandate the American people have given to Congress:
‘On November 8th, Americans voted for good paying jobs, for national sovereignty, for America’s priorities over those of a global elite, for law and order, for securing the border and temporarily pausing the inflow of foreign refugees from terror hot spots until they can be properly vetted. Americans decisively voted against Obama’s rule by pen and by phone, and against Obamacare. We voted for a strong America that does not get rolled by China or Russia. We voted for trade policies that prioritize the needs of American workers; for rolling back the crushing regulations faced by small businesses, and to ‘drain the swamp’ of Washington corruption and ossified Washington cronies. It is overwhelmingly clear where America stands.’
Brat explained that while Speaker Ryan may not have been paying attention to the working men and women of this country, ‘some of us were listening and many of us have run on these breakthrough issues for years.’ ” (Highlighting Forum’s throughout.)
Readers will recall that last January 13 Sessions, Brat Deliver[ed] Letter To GOP: Side With Voters – Not Donors – On Immigration
“Instead, we should correctly define the words ‘immigration reform’ to refer exclusively to the policies our voters – and all voters – can cheer and celebrate. Real ‘immigration reform’ protects American workers, families, and livelihoods. Defined this way, it is always the ‘right time’ to promote ‘immigration reform.’
If we want to lay out a ‘bold, conservative agenda,’ and demonstrate that we serve the voters – and not the special interests – we should begin by advancing bills to reduce out-of-control immigration. That is the reform our voters want, and that is what we must deliver.
Such action will not only bolster our existing electorate, but draw millions of new voters to our party from the ranks of independents and disaffected Democrats. Polling shows that across all parties and backgrounds, voters agree by a nearly 10:1 margin that companies should raise wages instead of bringing in new foreign labor. This is the right policy, and the winning strategy.”
While the House Republican Conference will likely approve Ryan today, the real test comes when the 115th Congress convenes on January 3, 2017.
In the new Congress, the Speaker must gain 218 votes or a majority of those present in an on-the-record vote in public on the House floor. (Also see Politico’s Rachael Bade here.)
