UPDATED! What Will Your Score Be On The Grover Norquist Quiz?

UPDATE OCTOBER 4! Grover Norquist will keynote the “Midwest Summit: Forging a New Consensus on Immigrants and Immigration” of the open-borders National Immigration Forum  in Indianapolis, IN on October 12. Ali Noorani is executive director of the National Immigration Forum. Norquist and Noorani were slated as panelists just over a year ago at the “Arab-American leadership conference in Detroit to tackle Islamophobia and the 2012 election” here, then also here.

* * * * *

“We know that Mr. Norquist (to put it charitably) turns a blind eye to the Islamist menace [here], inclines to amnesty for illegals [here], seeks a shrunken defense budget, and apparently has “no position” on ‘gay marriage.” – Blue Ridge Forum

Our friend, blogger Ann Corcoran, from across the Big River in Washington County, Maryland today devised for her Potomac Tea Party Report a short Grover Norquist Quiz (click on title blow).

This is a quiz: What is Grover Norquist?

How did you score?

Now, don’t get us wrong. We have always supported no-new-taxes pledges, and they have been particularly helpful in state legislatures.

Apparently too many Republican state politicians think fiscal and regulatory guidance hammered out in conservative think tanks should stay locked up inside those think tanks.

Both Maryland here (under governor Bob Ehrlich), and Virginia here have disheartening examples of state-level GOP spenders and eager governmentalists. And in both states, a GOP passion to grow government persists to this day here and here.

But Mr. Norquist is not the indispensable leader to keep taxes down; nor did he do much (if anything) to halt the growth of spending and intrusive government during the last Bush Administration.

And why should he?  He was — and is — a Karl Rove Man.  (Scroll down to last section in foregoing link.)

But property-rights-activist Corcoran’s five-question quiz should encourage much needed conservative discussion about — and examination of Republican very-heavy-hitter Norquist.

However she warns

“I’m not going to choose—this is for you!  After the mainstream media figures out who or what Barack Obama is, maybe they could move-on and find out what makes Americans for Tax Reform’s Grover Norquist tick.  (Don’t hold your breath!)”
