UPDATE AFTER PRESS TIME NOV 4! A seasoned GOP stalwart just emailed–“The Republican Women of Baltimore County have been waving on overpasses and at mixed affiliation and ethnic areas. They have been attacked by agitators at least 4 times. They chased one away, then on another day, they chased one with a box cutter away with pepper spray. One female came up and asked for a sign. This was at the city line. After receiving it, she tore it up in front of the wavers. On northern I-83, a husband parked on the shoulder before the bridge. The SHA sent police out and he got a parking ticket $70. Once a policeman came by and said he got a call, he was very nice, and there was no problem. It appears the left is using the government to stop free speech (First Amendment Rights).” (Highlighting Forum’s)

Overpass media veteran Ed Hunter sends us this report on his overpass-media Trump messaging last Tuesday afternoon:
“This story began shortly after 2:00, when a caravan of three cars apparently of goons pulled up on the overpass bridge. Two men got out of their cars and began ripping down our signs.
The State Highway Administration (SHA) arrived seconds later. They finished the job and confiscated the signs, saying we were disturbing the peace.
To add to the scene, a drone was flying overhead the whole time. Apparently it was privately operated and was controlled by a guy in a pickup truck who later landed it on the median strip, picked it up, and drove off with it.
So three things happened in about three minutes– the goons arrived, started to take down the signs, and one started a brief dust-up with me; then the SHA arrived; then the drone appeared above us. It certainly looked planned and coordinated.”
The incident occurred on Tuesday November 1, shortly after 2:00 pm, Hunter reports, at an overpass on
I-95, a Howard County spot where for years Hunter and fellow activist Lewis Porter have been displaying conservative political messages viewed by thousands of motorists.
Activist Hunter had arrived about an hour earlier and put up the signs: “AMERICA FIRST….TRUMP” facing one side of the highway and “TRUMP….CAN’T BE BOUGHT” facing the other.
“About 10 minutes later, the Howard County cops came. They have the power of arrest, but they did not help the SHA.
The county police have known us for years and wave as they pass by.
One Howard County cop warned me, ‘They are baiting you… don’t take the bait.’
Later the cops told us, “You can go.”
All of this happened under the eye of the goons in the cars parked up the road watching.
It was just another day in Anti-Trump, Hogan-controlled Maryland.”
We reported last October 16–

Maryland Highway Bureaucrats Try To Shut Down Trump Movement Overpass Media — On Hogan’s Watch — Is Governor Into Free Political Speech?
Activists Ed Hunter and Lewis Porter reported they are continuing their overpass media displays.
Last Friday in Howard County, Hunter displayed on 8 lanes — 4 North, 4 South.
He estimated 70,000 views.
Hunter did the same yesterday for three hours.
Then the Blue Meanies from the State Highway Administration arrived demanding that the (consistently courteous) local police immediately order the display removed.
Last we heard Maryland had a Republican governor devoted (scroll to oath in section 9) to constitutionally protected speech.
Let’s pray he gets on the highway bureaucrats’ case and gives them a basic civics lesson.
“Can’t Be Bought” yesterday on I-95 in Howard County, Maryland.
Activists Ed Hunter and Lewis Porter estimate 50,000 travelers saw this fundamental message – – – unfiltered by the Prestige Media.

Maryland Tea Partier Ed Hunter reports:
“Strong nationalist message from overpass.
50,000 views Friday July 15, 2016.
This idea seems to be the dividing line. There were strong responses from both sides to the message AMERICA FIRST..TRUMP.
Also standing on the bridge and working in the 95 degree heat for 4 hours– patriot Lewis Porter.”

Organizer Ed Hunter here reports that Tea Party activists will be fanning out over Maryland and Virginia with hard hitting overpass-media messages directed against a corrupt and complacent (and too-often-bipartisan) political establishment.

Click here to read Daniel Greenfield’s piercing analysis of Baltimore City’s pathology in his “The Incredible Entitlement of the Welfare Lobby”–
“Food stamp use in Baltimore under Obama increased 58%, but even back in 2009, a quarter of Baltimore and a third of its black population were on food stamps. Baltimore already accounts for almost half of the food stamp using households in the entire state.
Democratic Congressman Elijah Cummings called for an ‘inclusion revolution’ after the riots, but the revolution in his district happened a while back where a fifth of the households are on food stamps. Even though the household racial split in the seventh is about even, 85% of food stamp households are black. Cummings says that Baltimore needs to be a model for the nation. It’s a hell of a model.
The nation can’t survive turning into Baltimore. The city is subsidized by Maryland taxpayers, a state full of bedroom communities for consultants and employees of the Federal government. Maryland didn’t become the richest state in America through entrepreneurship and hard work, but by siphoning off massive Federal spending. Billions have already been ‘massively invested’ in Baltimore with no return.”
“The incredible entitlement of the welfare lobby has to end if the inner city is to have a future.”

Activist Hunter estimates an audience of 25,000 cars.
And on the national stage, RedState chief Erick Erickson declared last Tuesday
“House Conservatives Have the Power and Should Depose Speaker John Boehner”!
Influential conservative Erickson explained–
“Some will argue that a vote against Boehner is a mere protest vote. It is not. There are 30 House conservatives whose vote against Boehner, along with the united front of Democrats voting for Pelosi, could deny him reelection. These 30 would be exercising a veto. There would be no chance of a Democrat becoming Speaker (an obvious point but an argument sure to be advanced by some Republican), because an actual majority of the whole House of Representatives is required. Republicans would simply go back and re-nominate someone else who would not be subsequently vetoed.
Think of it as a Supreme Court nomination that needs to be confirmed by the Senate. When the Senate rejects a President’s nominee, it forces the President to go back to the drawing board and nominate someone new that is acceptable to the Senate. The Republican Conference would do that in this analogy by nominating someone that would not be vetoed by the 30.
This is also why the 30 would not need to be unified on who they wanted to replace Boehner—another common problem in removing Boehner. The conspirators can never agree on who the replacement should be. But if you veto Boehner and throw it back to the conference, with a willingness to stand firm on future bad options, House Republicans will eventually gravitate towards a real conservative who is well liked by many Republicans. It may take some time, but it will be worth it.”

Conservatives in the GOP — locally and nationally — face important crossroads soon.

UPDATE MAY 13! Dymphna at Gates of Vienna here explains “many American conservatives – authentic conservatives at any rate – are familiar with this creative adaptation for the samizdat [link added] spread of information – i.e., putting up signs on overpass fences along main arteries in order to reach people who wouldn’t otherwise know the sentiments on display. In this case, despite the consensus among the talking heads in government, media, and academe the subject of Benghazi is still very much alive . . . Those being silenced seek ways around the gatekeepers who control the portals to media and academia. The overpasses, being ubiquitous crossing points along our massive interlocking roadways, present endless possibilities for speaking out against the endless corruption. Thus, this recent display on Route 50 in Kent, Maryland. . .’Free’ speech may be dead, but the impulse is still lively and spirited. Those who cherish its ideal will keep on finding new ways to get their message out to their fellow citizens. ” (Highlighting Forum’s.) Read all of Dymphna’s post here.

Activist Ed Hunter here reports on Overpass Media’s display (below) 3:00 to 6:00 PM Friday May 9, 2014, on Route 50 at Chester River Beach Road, on Maryland’s Kent Island.
“We had an estimated viewership 25,000 of cars with a huge emotional response from this [message]. We also had a crying woman come up to us and tell us she knows the family of one of those who died and blessed us for keeping this issue before the public.”

Tea Parties Richard Falknor on 18 Jan 2014
Yesterday afternoon on Gorman Road over I-95 in Laurel, Maryland, U.S. Army Veteran and Tea Partier Lewis Porter paid homage to the victims of the 9/11/2012 Benghazi massacre:
Meanwhile Judicial Watch’s “Corruption Chronicles” here (in their post “Outrage Over Republican Leadership Compels Release of Benghazi Docs”) report that–
“Last week JW joined forces with surviving Benghazi family members, U.S. military leaders and other top conservatives to call House Speaker John Boehner on the sad and pathetic job he’s doing investigating the tragedy. In a scathing letter, JW and the other signatories blast the Republican leader, demand action and accountability concerning the Benghazi terrorist attack and justice for the four murdered Americans. The group also demands that Boehner install a select committee to thoroughly investigate the atrocity. The letter, personally addressed to Boehner, received substantial media attention.
There’s little doubt that this public grassroots outrage over Republican leadership failures compelled House leaders to act. The selective leak includes 450 pages of sworn testimony delivered over several months by senior Pentagon officials in closed-door hearings conducted by the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) last year. The briefings were part of the committee’s examination of the actions of the military chain of command before, during and after the attack, according to a press release announcing the documents’ availability as well as an upcoming report summarizing the panel’s ‘conclusion.’ The declassified files are available on the HASC [House Armed Services Committee] website.
The previously classified testimony reveals that, minutes after the American compound in Benghazi came under assault, top defense officials were informed that it was a ‘terrorist attack’ and not a spontaneous strike that started as a protest over a U.S.-made anti-Islam video as the Obama administration has said. General Carter Ham, who headed the Pentagon’s combat command (AFRICOM) with jurisdiction over Libya, testified that he broke the news about the unfolding attack to then Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and the chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff. Shortly afterwards the two senior officials left the Pentagon to meet with the president.” (Highlighting Forum’s.)
“The importance of these terrible facts being revealed to the public is certainly appreciated, but it’s unfortunate that we were compelled to shame the Speaker and the rest of the Republican leadership into doing their sworn duty. We reiterate our demand for a Special Select Committee to further uncover the Obama administration’s shameful conduct and possible unlawful acts related to the Benghazi terrorist attack.” (Highlighting Forum’s.)
